Wolcott Virginia "Ginny" M. Capaldo, 84, of Wolcott, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at The Waterbury Center for Nursing and Rehab. Ginny was born on April 12, 1938 in Rahway, New Jersey, daughter of the late Louis S. and Dorothy (Might) Capaldo. Ginny worked for the City of Waterbury for over 20 years in various roles and retired in 2012 from the Waterbury Police Department, a job that she loved dearly. She also enjoyed working in her yard and will be remembered for her love of animals. She was a long time communicant of St. Michaels Church in Waterbury. Her cousin Diane Capaldo and her niece Tina Beltrami, who were also her caretakers; survive her. She is also survived by her nieces, Lisa Dunn, Theresa Prisco, Tina Ericson, and Sandi Boyce; nephews, Christopher Christoff, and Steven Martino; her sister Barbara Capaldo; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, June Christoff, Patricia Martino, and Constance Picard. The family would like to thank Lisa Belline for caring for Virginia with grace and love; and to the nurses and staff at the Waterbury Center of Nursing and Rehabilitation for the compassion and support shown to Ginny and her family during her stay with them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michaels Church, 62 St. Michaels Dr., Waterbury. All are asked to meet directly at the church.
