TONY W. HOWARD, SR. WOLCOTT ~ Tony W. Howard, Sr., 71, of Wolcott who was affectionately known to his friends as "Howie" passed away on Wednesday, March 3rd at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his caring family after a long and courageous battle with COPD. He was the loving husband of Carolyn (Bargiel) Howard. Howie was born April 24, 1938 in Richlands, NC , son of Eugene and Madge (Lockamy) Howard and moved to Wolcott in 1986. Tonys fifty plus years working, covered a career of sales, marketing and operations management with the last twenty years spent with Maaco Enterprises. Tony enjoyed private aviation for which he was a rated pilot. He was a 16 year member of the Lakewood Social Club in Waterbury. His other hobbies included golfing, woodworking and solving crossword puzzles. Besides his wife, Carolyn of 38 years, he leaves his sons, Tony W. Howard, Jr. and his wife, Connie of Augusta, GA, Greg Howard and his wife, Amy of Kinston, NC, Michael Edinger of Mt. Airy, NC, Ted Howard of Wolcott, and Matthew Howard and his wife, Jo Ann of Wolcott, his brothers, James C. Howard of Apex, NC, Everette Howard of Catherine Lake, NC, and Alton Howard of Vienna, VA, his sisters, Joyce Walton of Newport, NC, Jannette Howard of Richlands, NC, and his grandchildren, Adrian, Rebekah, Sarah, Michael, Jr. and Dylan, and his great grandchildren, Hayden and Sophia. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Stella Bargiel of Wolcott. A gathering will be held on Friday at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. , Wolcott from 5 to 8 pm.
