THOMAS F. WOODRUFF, SR. FAMILY MAN WOLCOTT ~ Thomas F. Woodruff, Sr., 75, of Wolcott and Little River, S.C. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29th surrounded by his family at his home. He was the devoted husband of Shirley (Morrissey) Woodruff. Mr. Woodruff was born August 2, 1934 in Waterbury, son of the late Francis and Ethel (Breedon) Woodruff. He retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service and served during the Korean War. Thomas retired from Danco, Inc. after 20 years. Tom enjoyed his trips to Myrtle Beach, but his main focus was his wife and family. He was a "cherished grandfather" to his eleven grandchildren. Besides his wife, Shirley of 39 years, he leaves his children, Cheryl ORourke and her husband, Brian of Watertown, Denise Rockhill and her husband, Joseph of Wolcott, Kathleen Longo and her husband, Gregory of Wolcott, Marcie Woodruff of Wolcott and Thomas Woodruff, Jr. and his wife, Jamie of Wolcott, his brothers, William and George Woodruff of Terryville, his sister, Mary McCormack of Terryville, and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:45 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Michaels Church for a funeral mass at 10 am. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
