WATERBURY ~ Thomas S. Kotch, 67 of Waterbury passed away on Wednesday, February 9th at Waterbury Hospital. He was the widower of Patricia (Hull) Kotch.
Tom was born July 8, 1943 in New Britain, son of Thomas F. Kotch, Sr. and the late Theresa (Isabelle) Kotch. He had been employed in Quality Control for several local manufacturers. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam War and attained the rank of Sergeant. Tom was awarded several decorations and medals for his service to his country. He was a parishioner of St. Margaret Church. Tom served on the Board of Directors for the Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury, was a member of the Naugatuck Valley Project and the Knights of Columbus. He was a model railroad collector and toy train enthusiast.
He leaves his father Thomas and wife, Esther of Middletown, his son, Steven T. Kotch, Sr. of Waterbury, his daughter, Corrine Lohan and husband Philip Lohan of Vernon Hill, VA, his sister, Elaine Maloney and husband, David of Southington, his grandson, Steven T. Kotch, Jr., his nieces, Denise Cirillo-Romaniello and husband, James of Monroe, Karen Cirillo of Anthem, AZ, and Eileen Mumford and husband, Michael of Bristol, his nephew, Clifford Perdion and wife Erin and children, Alexander, Nicholas & Catherine, and his great niece, Ashley (Scavello) Covey and husband, William and daughter, Madison. He was predeceased by his step-brother, Michael Shingleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 am at St. Margaret Church, 289 Willow St. Waterbury. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
