Obituary

THOMAS A. CAISSE Former Arco Retiree WATERBURY ~ Thomas A. Caisse, 87, of Waterbury passed away on Thursday, April 15th at St. Marys Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of Evelyn M. (Rinaldi) Caisse. Thomas was born August 20, 1922 in Waterbury, son of the late Arthur J. and Mary (Gallagher) Caisse. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and attended Post College. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942 and was honorably discharged in March of 1946. During his years of service, he served aboard The Assault Transport APA13 in the South Pacific, where the ship participated in the Okinawa invasion. He worked at Anaconda American Brass for 42 years and served as President of the ARCO Retirees Association for two terms. He was a member of the VFW Post 7330 in Oakville and a parishioner of STS Peter & Paul Church. Thomas was an avid reader and sports fan. He leaves his sons, Thomas W. Caisse and his wife, Judy of St. Petersburg, FL, Gary A. Caisse of Wolcott, his best friend, Diane, his brothers, Arthur and Raymond Caisse, his ten grandchildren, David Caisse, Annette Polzella, Jennifer Ryan, Gary M. Caisse, Eric Caisse, Philip Caisse, Emily Caisse, Glen Caisse, Nico Caisse and Tyler Caisse, and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons, Robert R. and Glen A. Caisse, his brother, Edward Caisse and his sister, Marie Sheehy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to Sts. Peter & Paul Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
