Teresa (Canese) Lucashensky, 92, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016. She was the wife of the late Frank (Luke) Lucashensky, for 53 years.
Born and raised in Waterbury, Teresa was a graduate of Wilby High School, and attended Post Secretarial College. She was a gifted artist, an avid reader, and a phenomenal cook. After working and raising her family, she volunteered at Crosby High School. Most importantly, she played an active role in raising her special needs grandson, Nick, helping to make him the fine young man he is today.
Teresa is survived by her daughters, Priscilla Szczepanski; Teresa Skurkis; and Carlene Bartolotta; her granddaughter, Christine Grigg, of Wolcott, who so lovingly cared for her grandmother in her home for the past 3 years. The family appreciates her love and devotion a great deal. Thanks also to Daniel Grigg, Christines husband, who was the greatest support and partner in caregiving.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas Capozzi (Grammys buddy); Erica Kaufmann; Gina Murphy; Kyle Lucashensky; Kalynn Tozer; Kristian Lucashensky; Olivia Lucashensky; and Maria Bartolotta, and several great grandchildren, including Taylor Brooks and Sean Brooks, who also helped care for their great grandmother.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Frank; and her son, Luke P. Lucashensky, of Cape Cod.
Services will be held privately.
