WOLCOTT ~ Sylvia Ida (Beaudoin) Perreault, 78, of Wolcott passed away on Sunday, December 28 at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Jean-Paul Perreault.
Mrs. Perreault was born December 3, 1930 in Grassmere, NH, daughter of the late Sylvio and Alice (Cote) Beaudoin. She attended Post Junior College and Waterbury State Technical Schools to study Quality Control. Sylvia was a parishioner of the Shrine of St. Anne and a lifetime member of the Ladies of St. Anne and St. Jean the Baptiste Society. She had been an active member of the St. Anne Home School Association and taught CCD for many years. She was the Den Leader of troop 215 of St. Anne School and the Den Leader of the Cub Scouts at St. Peter & Paul School. She had been a board member of St. Marys Hospital Auxiliary and was a regular volunteer at the hospital. Extraordinarily devoted, Sylvia made and donated thousands of rosaries to local organizations. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Lay Carmelites. In June, 2000 she was selected to be the French mayor of the City of Waterbury. She retired in 1985 from Devon Precision Products after 19 years of service.
She leaves her son, Michael Perreault of Waterbury, her daughters, Madeleine Asipi of Wolcott, Diane Alves of Waterbury, Helen Perreault of Wolcott, Denise DaRocha of Waterbury, Linda Fitzgerald of New Hartford, Lisa Burgio of Wolcott, and Renee Perreault-Warner of Naugatuck and her brother, Leo Beaudoin of Norristown, PA,her grandchildren, Adam Perreault, Scott Fitzgerald, Hilarie Alves, Kevin Fitzgerald, Eric Burgio, Marissa Perreault, Andrew Fitzgerald, Laura Burgio, Amanda Perreault, Maria DaRocha, Noah Warner, and Skylar Warner, anda great grandson, Adam Paul Perreault, Jr. She was predeceased by her son, Roland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:45 am from the Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to the Shrine of St. Anne for a funeral mass at 10. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
