STEPHEN J. DELLABELLA Former Owner ~ Lily Lake Inn WOLCOTT ~ Stephen J. DellaBella, 71, of Wolcott passed away on Monday, December 7th at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Catherine (Stanish) DellaBella. Steve was born August 3, 1938 in Waterbury, son of the late Daniel and Anna (Senkis) DellaBella. For many years he was a stone mason in New York City and used his construction experience to create Fishermans Heaven in 1978. This fee fishing club then evolved into Lily Lake Inn in 1993, a well known wedding facility. He was known for his yearly game dinners and festive Christmas affairs. He enjoyed landscaping and spent unselfish time helping others, asking for nothing in return. Steve was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved his grandsons and had a special devotion to his dog, Daisy. He attended St. Pius X Church. Besides his wife, Catherine, he leaves his sons, Stephen P. and Todd D. of Wolcott, his brother, Daniel of Wolcott, his sisters, Madeline Lawson of Wolcott and Beatrice Arsenault of Hilton Head, S.C., his grandsons, Stephen A. and John P. of Wolcott, and his stepsons, Jonathan and Timothy Hubeny of Wolcott. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elaine J. (Belida) DellaBella and his sister, Joanne Farris. AMass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 am at St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to gather at Lily Lake Inn, Central Ave., Wolcott following the mass. Memorial gifts may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 538, CT Thomaston, CT 06786.
