Sister Rachelle M. Doyon, 84, member of the Secular Branch of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, entered life on Friday, May 9th, 2025, at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT, where she had been in residence for the past five years.

Sr. Rachelle was born in Waterbury, CT, on February 8, 1941, daughter of the late Emile and Bertha (Cyr) Doyon. After graduating from Crosby High School, she entered the Novitiate of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam, CT, and professed her first vows in June of 1961. Rachelle was part of the original group to transfer vows to the Secular Branch upon its foundation in 2003.

Sr. Rachelle worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for 14 years at CT Hospice in Branford. She continued her education in mental health and was a Social Worker Assistant for the Dept. of Children and Families for over 10 years. She was also a Member of the Lotus Network.

Sr. Rachelle was a parishioner of St. Anne Church for most of her life, where she was a member of The Ladies of St. Anne, the parish choir and a Eucharistic Minister.

Sr. Rachelle always had a passion for the homebound and those who cared for them. Her deep desire to find a way to help others, especially when it came to assisting children at risk and the elderly, remained throughout her life.

Sr. Rachelle is survived by her sister, Jeannette Ferry and her husband William, her sister-in-law, Beverly Doyon, several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Robert Doyon. She was predeceased by her brother, Ernest "Rene" Doyon, and sister, Yvette Rouillard.

Sr. Rachelle's life will be celebrated with a Mass, beginning at 10 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Anthony's Church, 4 Union City Rd., in Prospect, followed by burial of her ashes in St. Joseph Cemetery, in Waterbury. Her family will receive condolences at the Church prior to the Mass beginning at 9 AM.
