SHIRLEY A. DEZIEL OAKVILLE ~ Shirley A. (Smart) Deziel, 73, of Oakville passed away on Saturday, May 22nd at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Richard R. Deziel. Mrs. Deziel was born December 1, 1936 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Edmond and Rella (Pelletier) Smart, Sr. She attended St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville. Shirley was an avid bingo player and enjoyed having coffee with her friends. She leaves her daughter, Donna Deziel of Oakville, her son, Mark Deziel and his wife, Shelley of Oakville, her brothers, Harold Smart of Wolcott, Norman Smart of Naugatuck, and Edmond Smart, Jr. of Thomaston, her sisters, Beatrice Ricard of Wolcott and Doris Sargeleski of TX, and her grandson, Alex Marciano of Oakville. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 from Woodtick Memorial to St. Mary Magdalen Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
