Obituary

WOLCOTT ~ Sandra (Stevenson) Lofgren, 76, loving wife of Harold Lofgren, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. Sandra was born April 27, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth Stevenson. She was the owner of the Northend Liquor Store for over 20 years, and in 1997 passed the business to her son, James. Sandra was a member of the Farmingbury Womans Club, the Prospect Senior Center, The Connecticut Valley Vagabonds Hiking Group and The Friends of the Library where she served as Treasurer. For several years, she volunteered at the Wolcott Lions Club Fair. Sandra enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and bingo, but her favorite pastime was playing a friendly game of cards with her grandchildren. Besides Harold her husband of 58 years, she leaves her children, Chris Traonetti and her husband, Mike of Waterbury, Susan Lofgren and her husband, James Levandowski of Simsbury, and James Lofgren and Cindy Benson of Wolcott, her siblings, Gail Garlin, William and Donald Stevenson all of NY, her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, David, and Ryan Lofgren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Farmingbury Womans Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 6337, Wolcott, CT 06716.
