SAMUEL C. LUCHENE
WOLCOTT ~ Samuel C. Luchene, 85, of Wolcott passed away on Thursday, September 10th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the widower of Louise (Pesce) Luchene.
Mr. Luchene was born March 8, 1924 in Waterbury, son of the late Michael and Mary (Sholeshko) Esuchene. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army and received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He retired from White Oak Construction Co. in Plainville after 30 years of service. He was devoted to his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He leaves his sons, Samuel N. Luchene and his wife Nancy of Morris, Michael Luchene and his wife Linda of Waterbury, and John Luchene and his wife Catherine of Wolcott, his daughters, Louanne Franklin of Wolcott and Josephine Chasse and her husband, Maurice of Wolcott, his brother, John Luchene of Cheshire, his grandchildren, Joseph Franklin, Susan, Michael, Lori, Ryan, Lisa and Joseph Luchene and his nephew John. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Evans.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial with military honors will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 pm.
