Ruth P. Lyman
WOLCOTT ~ Ruth P. (Greenly) Lyman, 96, of Wolcott passed away on June 30th at Wolcott View Manor. She was the widow of Frank Lyman.
Mrs. Lyman was born June 29, 1914 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late William M. and Mary (Patterson) Greenly. She graduated from Drew Seminary in Carmel, NY in 1933. In 1938, she moved to Waterbury from Philadelphia, PA and settled in Wolcott in 1945. She retired in 1989 after 20 years from G. Fox & Co. at the Naugatuck Valley Mall. During WWII, she was a member of the Footlighters Acting Troup performing locally. She was active in the Cub Scouts and was instrumental in establishing All Saints Episcopal Church in Wolcott as well as a charter member of the Good Will Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Waterbury.
She leaves her son, Richard Lyman of Bristol, a daughter, Wendy Carpenter of Torrington, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son F. Christopher and daughter-in-law, Marla and great grandson, Hunter.
The family would like to thank Wolcott View Manor for all the warm and loving care that was extended to Ruth.
