Wolcott ~ Ruth B. (Borinsky) Bournival, 80, passed on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Wolcott View Manor. She was the widow of Gilles Bournival.
Mrs. Bournival was born March 11, 1932 in Waterbury, daughter of the late John and Ruth (Deming) Borinsky. She worked for many years as a switchboard operator at Sears, then many different positions in the office leading up to her retirement. Following the loss of her husband she had a part time job for American Greetings. Ruth lived in Waterbury for ten years and moved back to Wolcott. She was an avid reader, spent a lot of time on bus trips to NY to see Broadway shows and loved to shop. Ruth is mostly remembered for the love and affection she had for her family and grandchildren.
Ruth leaves her son, Steven Bournival of Bristol, a daughter, Sandy Elsdon and her husband Paul of Wolcott, three grandchildren, Crista Morrone and her husband Brett, Paul M. Elsdon and his wife Marlanea, Steven D. Bournival, two great grandchildren, Paige and Colton Morrone and many nephews and nieces.
The family extends deep appreciation to Candida from the VNA of Waterbury as well as the nurses and staff at the Wolcott View Manor for the care and compassion that was given to Ruth at a time she needed it most.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Friends and family are invited for calling hours from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott.
