Wolcott- Rosemary A. Tirendi, 80, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Ernest Tirendi. Rosemary was born in Waterbury, on August 15, 1935, to the late Michael and Blanche (Fellows) McAuliffe. Rosemary was employed by St. Marys Hospital for over 20 years. She was an avid UConn Womens Basketball fan. She was very crafty, and loved to crochet, sew, and make ceramics. Her baking and cooking are two of the many things she will be remembered for. Rosemary was admired for her generosity, as she found happiness in buying and wrapping gifts for others. She loved her daughters and grandchildren dearly. Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Debra Kohlberg, and her husband, Carl, of Wolcott; and Lori Basile, and her husband, John, of Wolcott; her grandchildren, Justin Lee, and his fianc, Amanda; Erica Lee; Taylor Gleason; and Shawn Basile; her brother in law, Val Mancuso; her sister in law, Eleanor Mancuso; and several nieces and nephews. Including her husband, Ernest, she was predeceased by her brother, George McAuliffe. Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 9, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A funeral home service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Marys Hospital for the compassion and care they showed Rosemary and her family.
