Ronald J.
Uricchio
November 16, 1949 – January 15, 2026
With our hearts broken, we announce the passing of Ronald J. Uricchio, 76, of Wolcott, on Thursday January 15, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Jane (Avery) Uricchio for the last 49 years.
Born in Hartford on November 16, 1949, Ron was the son of the late William and Julia (D’Allesandro) Uricchio. He graduated from Enfield High School and UConn Storrs. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Army Reserves Engineering Division. He was an active member of both the Wolcott Landowners Association and Mill Plain Church.
Ron retired from Iaccarino and Sons where he was a commercial estimator. He also worked with the Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance Co. as an EMT.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and motorcycles, the beach, and drawing. He was a 20-year cancer survivor. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and best friend, left to carry on his loving legacy are his six children Becky Uricchio and her husband Robert Lachapelle, Amanda and her husband Gary Bonaldi, Jaimie and her husband Wesley Schipritt, Kimberly and her husband Marc Dumaine, Matthew and his partner Ashley, and Michael and his wife Amanda Uricchio. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Evelyn, Scarlett, Dominic, Luca, Savannah, Luke, and Jaxson, as well as his brother Donald and wife Christine, sisters Beverly and her husband John Yelle, and Jodi and her husband David Wagner as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 23rd from 4 to 7 PM at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Friends and family are also invited to celebrate Ron’s life on Saturday January 24th at Mill Plain Church, 242 Southmayd Road, Waterbury, with Services beginning at 10 AM followed by full military honors. Please meet directly at the church. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
