Obituary

WATERBURY ~ Roland LeBlanc, 86, of Waterbury passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Rita (Forest) LeBlanc. Roland was born February 8, 1926 in Van Buren, ME, son of the late Vital and Laura (Lausier) LeBlanc. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the V.F.W. Oakville Post #7330. Roland retired from Better Formed Metals after 30 years of service. In his younger years, he bowled with several duck pin leagues and always enjoyed a challenging game of cards. He was a lifetime member of the Shrine of St. Anne Holy Name Society and volunteered at the Shrines bingo nights for many years. He was a tool engineer by trade, but had an ability to perform any kind of carpentry work. Roland taught eyelet trade at the Waterbury Adult Education for several years. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Besides his loving wife, Rita of 63 years, he leaves a daughter, Laura Manzi and her husband, Richard of Waterbury, a son, Ronald LeBlanc of Waterbury, a granddaughter, Melissa Finkenzeller and her husband, Brian and their children, Christina and Timothy, his siblings, Gaspard LeBlanc of Waterbury, Reno LeBlanc of ME, Gerald LeBlanc of Newington, and Theresa Duplissie of ME and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the medical and physical therapy staff at Paradigm of Prospect and to the staff and doctors at St. Marys Telemetry floor. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 9 am at Sts. Peter and Paul, Church, 67 Southmayd Rd., Waterbury . Everyone is asked to meet at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Memorial gifts may be made to the Michael J.
