ROBERT LEE WOODING
WOLCOTT ~ Robert Lee Wooding, 86, of Wolcott passed away on Thursday, August 20th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Alma (McLean) Wooding.
Mr. Wooding was born June 12, 1923 in Waterbury, son of the late George and Ella (Asher) Wooding. He was a design engineer who held several patents. In the early 1960s he constructed his home and was a local stone mason. For many years, he was a curator of the Wolcott Historical Society. He was active in scouting and along with his wife volunteered for the Elder Hostel. He was known for his musical gift on the guitar and as a singer. He was a published poet and amateur artist. Robert loved to travel and enjoyed his cats.
Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves his daughter, Robin Wooding and her partner Don Malchi of Wolcott, and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held at a future date.
