Wolcott- Robert Salerno, 59, died Saturday at the VITAS Hospice in St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. Rob was born was born March 4, 1954, in Waterbury to Joseph F. and Beatrice M. (Bednar) Salerno, presently of Wolcott. . Bob was always fascinated with astrology and meteorology. He will be sorely missed by many. The family would like to recognize the care and compassion that was given to Robert by the Smilow Cancer Hospital and St. Mary's VITAS, the Dr.'s and Staff. Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Sandra Young and her husband John of Florida, his brothers, Michael Salerno of Wolcott, with whom he resided, Kevin Salerno and his wife MaryAnn of Watertown, nephews, Cory, Nicholas, and Joseph, a niece, Christina and aunt Lena Mucciolo. Arrangements: Friends are asked to gather on Tuesday directly at St. Pius X Church for a Mass at 10am. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Wolcott Ambulance 48 Todd Rd. Wolcott CT 06716.
