Robert Joseph LaChance December 26, 1945 - May 12, 2020 Robert J. LaChance, 74, passed away peacefully at Saint Marys Hospital Tuesday, May 12. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Robert was born in Waterbury on December 26, 1945, son of Marc Emile and Laurette LaChance. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years, Rita H. LaChance. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam war until 1968. He worked for many years for New England Masonry and then as an HVAC technician for various companies around Waterbury. Most recently he worked for Durham school services as a bus driver. He took great joy in taking the children of Waterbury to school. He enjoyed maintaining his yard and loved his yard "toys." He is survived by his son Robert M. LaChance and his wife Stephanie, his daughters Brandy LaChance and her fianc Dr. Robert Wetmore, Robyn Bergin and her husband David, Tracy Bette and her husband Robert, Wendy Pratt and her husband Anthony, his sister Lorraine Palmieri and her husband Anthony and many grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his son Lester Pierson and brother Raymond. Private services for Robert will be held at a later date .
