WATERBURY- Rita Parenteau, 82, daughter of the late George E. and Dolores (Deziel) Parenteau passed into heaven on Monday, October 2nd at VITAS in St. Marys Hospital. Rita was born in Waterbury on September 29, 1941. She graduated from St. Annes Grammar School and Wilby High School. She was a retired cashier and bookkeeper for A&P supermarkets in Waterbury where she worked for 46 years. She and her sister Lillian were world travelers with Australia and Hawaii among their favorite destinations. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anne Church and a member of The Ladies of St. Anne. In addition to her sister Lillian with whom she resided, left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Irene Parenteau, her nephew Mark Parenteau, her nieces Lisa (Dean) Accetura, Jessica (Leo) Palana, her Goddaughter Angela Brown and grand nieces and nephews: Kailyn, Julia, Dean and Amanda. She was predeceased by her brother Maurice A. Parenteau. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Anne Church/ All Saints Parish 515 South Main St. followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
