Richard F. Sambuco
New Haven County Hall of Fame Bowler
WATERBURY- Richard F. Sambuco, 75, husband of MaryAnn (Milia) Sambuco passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning.
Richard was born in Waterbury on April 27, 1948, son of the late Anthony Sambuco and Natalie (Maccione) (Sambuco) Morelli. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1967. He worked for Timex as a tool and die maker for 25 years. In 2002, he was inducted in the New Haven County Hall of Fame for his bowling accomplishments which included 14 perfect 300 games. He was also a dedicated fan of the NY Yankees.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his brother John (Beverly) Sambuco, two sisters Barbara Burgio, Marie Millette and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves two sons Richard and Andrew Sambuco from a previous marriage, his current sisters-in-law Linda, Rose and Charlene Milia. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Arthur Milia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11 AM in St. Pius Church/ St. Basil the Great Parish in Wolcott. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
