WATERBURY ~ Richard Rockhill, 68 of Waterbury passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Danbury Hospital. He was the widower of Mary (Violette) Rockhill.
Richard was born August 28, 1943 in Waterbury, son of the late Ernest and Florence (Leary) Rockhill. He retired in 2009 from the Wolcott Board of Education after 30 years of service. Richard made and collected model cars and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of St. Leo The Great Church.
He leaves his children, Wayne Rockhill of Waterbury, Donna (Rockhill) Collins and Lenore Stadalnik, both of Hamilton, OH, Martha Schmollinger of Manchester, and Ronald Stadalnik of Watertown, his step children, Shelley Corey, Linda Gruzas, Theresa Torres, and Alyssa Rey, all of Waterbury, Dawn Zukauskas of Winsted, and Dale Gruzas of Cheshire, his sister, Jackie Butler of Wolcott, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Rockhill.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr., Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with Richards arrangements.
