WOLCOTT ~ Richard "Dick" Lyons, 72, of Quincy, MA passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Wolcott View Manor, Health & Rehabilitation surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Joanne (Shields) Lyons.
Dick was born February 5, 1940 in Weymouth, MA, son of the late John M. and Mabel (Jellow) Lyons. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Church in Quincy, MA and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 12 years of service. Dick loved being near the ocean and enjoyed fishing, and gardening as well as trips to Foxwoods.
Besides his wife, Joanne of 50 years, he leaves his children, Stephen Lyons and his wife, Robin of New Milford, Lynn Viscosi and her husband, Louis of Wolcott, Lisa LaRose of Vernon, and Richard James Lyons and his fiance, Penny Roy of Wethersfield, his loving grandchildren, John and Laura Lyons, Alexandria and Victoria Viscosi, and Brittany and Jessica LaRose, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Dicks family would like to express a special thanks to Mr. James Cleary and his staff at Wolcott View Manor, Health and Rehabilitation for the compassionate care that was given to him.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will be private at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree, MA.
