WOLCOTT Richard David Dawiczyk, 64, of Wolcott, passed away on May 7, 2012, at Bristol Hospital while his family was by his side. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Bellemare) Dawiczyk for the last 42 years. Richie was born May 14, 1947, in Bristol, son of Sophie (Suntava) and the late Frank Dawiczyk. He was a U.S. Coast Guard reservist and completed his full term as a boastswain's mate, second class. He had been with Reynolds Carbide Die Co. as a tool and die maker for 43 years. Rich was a member of St. Pius Church of Wolcott, U.S. Bowling Congress, and at one time he was a Cub Scout leader and assistant baseball coach for B.A.W. as well as a volunteer at tournaments. Friends can always count on Rich to help them with any problems that arose. He always found the good in people and nothing would keep him from showing his kindness. He loved to bowl tenpin, listen to country music, watch the Giants, and took his family on many rides on Sundays. He loved his family gatherings and after dinner he would stay into the late hours to spend time. Richie was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. Besides his beloved wife, Jackie, he is survived by a daughter, Wendie Dawiczyk and her fianc, Mark Rodriguez, and sons, Mark and his wife, Ruth Dawiczyk, and Craig Dawiczyk, all of Wolcott; grandchildren, Cody Dawiczyk and Nicholas Santopietro; his brothers, Frank and Lori Dawiczyk of Bristol, Gregory and Margaret Dawiczyk of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews. The family deeply appreciates the kindness, care, compassion and love the nurses and staff provided to them and Rich during their stay at Bristol Hospital. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott.
