WATERBURY ~ Rene Gagnon, 78 of Waterbury passed away on October 11, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jeannine (LeBlanc) Gagnon. Rene was born May 1, 1935 in Woonsocket, RI, son of the late Armand and Veronica (Roy) Gagnon. He retired from Easter Color after 31 years of service and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church. He enjoyed duck pin bowling, pool and horseshoes. He loved being with his family and often enjoyed a spirited game of set back with them. Rene was an avid Red Sox fan. Rene leaves his wife, Jeannine of 53 years, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael, his brothers, Robert and Raymond Gagnon and his sisters, Cecile Cammellitti, Yvonne Velazquez, and Constance Hollywood. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at 11 am at Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church, 18 Wolcott St., Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
