WOLCOTT ~ Rene R. Brouillard, Sr., 77, of Wolcott passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at The Pines in Bristol surrounded by his loving family. Rene was the husband of Jean (Messer) Brouillard. Rene was born August 31, 1935 in Waterbury, son of the late Theodore and Alice (Goyette) Brouillard. He started his business, Renes Auto Sales & Service in Wolcott in 1963 and retired after 50 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church where he served as an usher and choir member. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Bristol Fish & Game Club. He was "Mr. Fix-It" and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife, Jean of 49 years, he leaves his children, Rene Brouillard, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Wolcott, Steven Brouillard and his wife, Carey of N.C., Lauran Romaniello and her husband Fred Jr. of Wolcott and Susette DuBois and her husband, Peter of MD, his brothers, Fernand and Edgar of Waterbury, Armand of Wolcott, Maurice of Southington and Theodore, Jr. of Litchfield, his sisters, Delores Bergeron of Terryville and Rita LaMadeleine of Wolcott, 8 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church.
