REGINA L. JACQUES WATERBURY ~ Regina L. (Chmielewski) Jacques, 88, of Waterbury passed away on Tuesday, February 2nd at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Horace Jacques. Mrs. Jacques was born January 26, 1922 in Terryville, daughter of the late Theodore and Sophie (Bobinski) Chmielewski. She was an accomplished knitter, cook, and seamstress. She taught sewing at the Girls Club in Bristol. Regina was an avid Bingo player and was a member of the Village at East Farms Pool League. She spent many summers at Hammonasset Beach State Park. Her family was her focus and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves her son, Darrin Jacques and his wife, Tanya of Wolcott, her daughters, Denise Svoboda and her husband, Brion of Middletown, Valerie Jacques-Wilson and her husband Raymond of Jacksonville, FL, Karen Jacques Bianchi of Cheshire, and Ellen Roberts and her husband Brian of Ruidoso Downs, NM, her sister Isabel Strong of Bristol, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450. A gathering will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Community Room of the Village of East Farms, 180 Scott Rd., Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
