RAYMOND W. WOOD WOLCOTT ~ Raymond W. Wood, 81 of Wolcott passed away on Monday, March 16th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Jeanne (Clement) Wood. Mr. Wood was born December 3, 1927 in Beacon Falls, son of the late Frank and Agnes (OBrien) Wood. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the U.S. Army. He received the Korean Service Medal with a bronze camp star. He retired from Uniroyal in 1988 with over 30 years of service. Ray enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards and was an avid Yankees fan. Besides his wife, Jeanne of 60 years, he leaves his son Steven Wood and his wife, Patricia of Wolcott, his daughters, Susan Monti and her husband, Ralph of Wolcott, and Donna Charette and her husband, Edward of Wolcott, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Doris Wood of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his son, Raymond F. Wood. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Friends are asked to gather at the church. Burial will be private. His arrangements have been entrusted to Woodtick Memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his name may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183.
