RALPH A. CRETELLA, JR.
Industrial Art Teacher
Waterbury: Ralph A. Cretella, Jr., 75, of Bentwood Drive, died Tuesday, June 16th at the Cheshire House. He was the beloved husband of Jane A. (Emmons) Cretella.
Mr. Cretella was born March 10, 1934 in Waterbury, son of the late Ralph A. and Helen (DeBonis) Cretella, Sr. He graduated from Central CT State University with a master degree in Education. He worked for the Waterbury School System for over thirty six years as an Industrial Arts Teacher and was a department head at Kennedy High. He was a member of the Wolcott Land Owners Protective Association, the Bristol Fish & Game Club and the Waterbury Elks Club No. 265 B.P.O.E. His hobbies included hunting and trap shooting.
Besides his wife of fifty years, he is survived by his son Ralph A. Cretella, III of Waterbury, his daughter Sherry Tamburrino and her husband Michael of Lebanon, TN, his grandsons Jarrod Tamburrino and his wife Brittany of Terryville and Casey Tamburrino of Lebanon, TN. He also leaves his brothers in laws Robert Emmons and his wife Edith and Herbert Emmons and his wife Jeanette all of Waterbury and his sister in law Edith Arnold and her husband Raymond of Morris, NY and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held Monday, June 22nd at 11:00 am at the New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 19th from 5 to 8pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road in Wolcott.
