WATERBURY ~ Rachel (Ray) Boisclair-Lanoue, 82, of Waterbury passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Vitas Unit at St. Marys Hospital.
Rachel was born January 3, 1930 in Waterbury and was predeceased by her parents, Fernand and Addie (Levesque) Boisclair. During the Korean War, she served with the U.S. Army Medical Unit in Japan. She worked as an L.P.N. at the V.A. Hospital in West Haven and later at local nursing homes. In her younger years, she worked at the Palace Theater where she developed a love of Broadway, especially enjoying actress Ethel Merman.
She leaves her nieces and nephews, April Radocchio and her fianc, Dr. Gary Kleinman of Wolcott, Robert Boisclair of Sharon, VT, Donna Boisclair of Waterbury, and Kurt Boisclair of Farmingdale, and her sister-in-law, Lois Rogers of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Boisclair.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
