Wolcott - R. Theresa (Doyon) Prescott passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Mr. Bernard Prescott. Theresa was born in St. Rose, P.Q. Canada, the last of 22 children to the late Leon and Hebele (Lambert) Doyon. Theresa was raised in Vermont and attended Mt. St. Joseph Academy - C.N.D in St. Johnsbury, VT. She was a member of VFW Post 1979, Ladies Auxiliary and The American Legion Post 165. She enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino and won blue ribbons at local fairs for her beautiful crocheted blankets. She and her husband owned and operated D & T Transportation Co. for a number of years. Theresa was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Theresa is survived by her children, Lucille Held and her husband Edward of S.C., Ronald Rousseau and his wife Esther of Northfield, Suzanne Charette and her husband Butch of FL, Marie Ann Rita Tomasiewicz and her husband William of Waterbury, Cindi Johnson of Plainville, Catherine Ordway and her husband Thomas of Thomaston, and Patricia Padaigas and her husband Edward of Wolcott; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from Noon to 1:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, a funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Theresas name to the Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance Association, 48 Todd Rd, Wolcott, CT 06716.
