On February 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, Mrs. Priscilla (Cote) Vaillancourt, beloved wife of Joseph Vaillancourt for over sixty years, went to join him in heaven, just nine months after his passing.
Born in Biddeford, Maine, on March 12, 1942, Priscilla was the daughter of the late Robert and Pauline (Sylvester) Cote. She retired from Kaynor Technical High School, where she taught for over 20 years.
Priscilla and Joe lived in Wolcott for over 50 years and enjoyed traveling the world together. They were parishioners of St. Pius X Church / St. Basil Parish, where Priscilla was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Columbiettes and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She enjoyed shopping trips with the Wolcott Senior Center, attending Friday night dinners with their group of friends, and the many cruise adventures they shared around the world.
Priscilla expressed her love through home-cooked meals, carefully sewn creations, and countless quiet acts of kindness within her community. Above all, Priscilla’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment together and was endlessly proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: John Vaillancourt and his wife Chris of Southwick, MA; James Vaillancourt and his wife Kristen of Watertown, CT; and Julie Sargeant of Pembroke, MA. She was a proud grandmother to Eric (Lacie) Vaillancourt, Ryan Vaillancourt, Carlie (Nick) Lappen, Maryn Vaillancourt, Jack Vaillancourt, Lauren Sargeant, and Joseph Sargeant, and a delighted great-grandmother to Hailey Vaillancourt and Charlotte Vaillancourt. She was predeceased by two beloved children, Joseph and Brian Vaillancourt, who passed away in infancy.
In addition, she is survived by her brother, Adrian Cote, and her sister, Marguerite (Robert) Desrochers, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Priscilla’s kindness, gentle spirit, and steadfast devotion to her family and faith will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance Association.
Priscilla’s funeral will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, to St. Pius X Church / St. Basil Parish for a Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. Calling hours are Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
Woodtick Memorial is honored to serve the Vaillancourt family again. You are encouraged to visit Priscilla’s tribute page at www.woodtickmemorial.com for more information.
