Obituary

Wolcott - Mr. Phydime Pelletier passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 30, 2016. He was husband to the late Jeanne (Bard) and Adeline (Ouellette). He was born in Fort Kent, Maine to the late Telesphore and Maria (Daigle) Pelletier. He was one of 16 children. He was a decorated WWII veterans having served in the Army during the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. Congresswoman Estys Office presented him with his service medals, which were lost during the Flood of 1955, in a ceremony attended by family in July 2015. He moved to the Greater Waterbury area in 1954, where he worked as a carpenter and at Anaconda American Brass for 33 years until his retirement. He and his wife, Adeline, moved to Florida in 1987. He returned to Connecticut in 2011. Phydime was a communicant of the Shrine of St. Anne and is a lifetime member of the Franco-American Social Club. He enjoyed teaching the carpentry trade to his offspring. He also enjoyed playing and teaching the card game, Charlemagne, which had been handed down for generations. Phydime is survived by his children: Claudette (Richard) Gillett, Donald (Ceil), Bernadette DAlessio, Ronald (Diane), Pauline (Victor) Boucher, Irene (Albert) Pinto, Gloria (David) Graziano, Frederick (Rita), Patricia, Richard (Karen), Robert (Christa), Deborah (Philippe) Laliberte, Carl , Andrew (Elizabeth), 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by brothers John, Paul (Nicole), Lucien (Sharon), and sisters Evelyn Lafreniere, Marianne (Frank) Palaia, Theresa Solomita, Nilda (Yvon) Martin, Madeleine (Karen). He is also survived by daughter-in-law Mary; sisters-in-law AnneMarie and Lena. He is predeceased by sons Joseph "Alphie" and Phillip; brothers Adelard, Romeo, Conrad and Claude; sisters Prescilla Ouellette, Jeanne Carrier, and Arlene Bard; grandchildren Anthony, Amy, and Patricia DAlessio; brothers-in-law Raoul "Ray" Carrier, Patrick Bard, Marcel Lafreniere and Valmont Ouellette; and son-in-law Patsy DAlessio. Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 3, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4, at 11:00 A.M. at the Shrine of St. Anne for Mothers in Waterbury. Committal services and military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
