PAUL E. JOHNSON
WOLCOTT ~ Paul E. Johnson, 70, of Wolcott passed away on Friday December 11th at Wolcott View Manor. He was the husband of Maryann (Mack) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was born January 25, 1939 in Waterbury, son of the late Henry and Hazel (Anderson) Johnson. He retired from Metalform Company of New Britain and had prior service in the U.S. Coast Guard. During the 1960s, Paul was a member of the Wolcott Police Dept. As a bowler, he earned the 1982-1983 season League Championship of the National Duckpin Bowling League and was a member of the Lakewood Lanes 200 Club. He enjoyed golfing and received the 1992 Dom Valentino Memorial Tournament Golf Champion Award. He was actively involved in the New England Modified Racing Series and was an avid fishing, hunting, and camping enthusiast. In addition, he was a spirited story teller and humorist, a country western music fan and an animal lover.
Besides his wife, Maryann of 49 years, he leaves his daughter, Laurie Membrino and her husband, Ralph of Wolcott, his son, Donald E. Johnson and his wife, Sandy of Wolcott, his sister, Betty Desiderio of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald H.
Family and friends may call at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held during the calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Following the services on Wednesday evening, a reception will be held at Mona Lisa Restaurant, 10 Wakelee Rd., Wolcott.
