Obituary

Waterbury Norman J. Chasse, 91, of Waterbury, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Waterbury Gardens after a brief illness. Norman was born on Nov. 4, 1927 in St. Agatha, Maine, the youngest of ten children. Born to Felix and Sophie (Bouchard) Chasse, and lived in Waterbury most of his life where he delivered milk door to door. He leaves behind his wife Mary of Cromwell; his sister Rolande Lannon of Wolcott; and his sister-in-law Margaret Chasse of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his daughter Cindy. Norman was part of the "greatest generation" that we should never forget. Norman fought in Japan during WWII, after the war, he came home, just like all other service men and women who made it back safe, to start his life as a young man. Unfortunately his time home was short. Norman was called up to fight the cold, hard winters in Korea. We would like to thank Normans neighbors, "his second family." Darlene, her husband Fran, their children, and Darlenes Uncle Joe for being there over the years. We also want to thank the staff at Waterbury Gardens and VITAS Healthcare for all the love and support they gave Norman during his illness. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church (St. Basil the Great Parish) 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
