Bristol - Norma Jean (Pelletier) Lavorgna, 68, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. Marys Hospital. Norma was born on March 4, 1948 in New Britain, daughter of the late Norman and Jeannette (Lacaillade) Pelletier. Norma was a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature and wrote many childrens stories. She loved reading, music and spending time with her loving family. Norma was also a former Girl Scout troop leader and communicant of Mount Carmel Church in Waterbury. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Mitchell of Wolcott; her granddaughter, Renee Mitchell of Norwalk; four brothers and sisters, Betty Hirth and her husband Don of Westbrook, Dennis Pelletier and his wife Ann of Wolcott, Steven Pelletier, and Susan Vaccarelli both of Prospect; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private.
