Nancy E. Fogarty, 83, passed away Friday, September 18, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the former wife of the late William E. Fogarty. Nancy was born on November 18, 1931, in Waterbury, to the late Joseph P. and Kathleen (Hahn) Meehan. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church. Nancy was graduated from Crosby High School in 1949, and completed the nursing program at St. Marys School of Nursing in 1952. She retired as the Director of Nurses from Rose Manor in Waterbury in 1998. Nancy and William married in 1956 and began her family with whom she loved very much. She was extremely proud of her sons and grandsons in the Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force. Nancy also enjoyed summers at Cape Cod and Thursday nights at Coach Scullys with friends. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, William J. Fogarty, and his wife, Maria E. (Chavez), of MD; and Terence M. Fogarty, and his significant other, Alexis M. Wilson, of Wolcott; her daughters, Nancy E. Scully, and her husband Jim, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Wolcott; and Kathleen M. Fogarty, of Bristol; her grandchildren; William Fogarty-Sheehan, and his husband Michael Sheehan; Ryan Fogarty, and his wife Ashley; Patrick L. Fogarty; Christian M. Fogarty; and Brendan J. Fogarty; her goddaughter, Maribeth (Halpin) Steele; and many close friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, on Tuesday, September 22 at 10 a.m. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Nancy to The Pines at Bristol, 61 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010, c/o Recreation Dept. Nancys family cannot express enough gratitude to the entire staff of The Pines for the exceptional care they offered. From the kitchen, to the administrative, to the aides and nurses; everyone went above and beyond in caring for Nancy, and for that we are forever grateful. And if you knew Nancy, youd know, "Who is better than me?"
