Obituary

Waterbury - Mrs. Theresa (Nistico) Rogers Lawrence, 90, passed away on Sunday evening, November 6, at Regal Care of Prospect. She was the widow of Carl Rogers. Theresa was born February 3, 1926 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Andrew and Carmela (Aruta) Nistico. Raised in Waterbury she had attended local schools and worked for Scovill Manufacturing for over thirty years. After her retirement she continued to work at McDonalds, Burger King and Toddler Town, where she enjoyed working with children. Theresa enjoyed music, dancing and bowling at Perillos. Her children will always remember Christmas parties at CERA Hall, picnics at Northfield Dam and parties at PWP. They will miss her cooking, especially her home made raviolis. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, where she had volunteered as a greeter and sunshine lady. She was known as a friendly and outgoing woman with a smile for everyone she met. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She also attended Senior Care in Middlebury and enjoyed socializing and the various activities. She will be remembered for her love of family and will be missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to thank the Interim Healthcare aides who cared for Theresa at her home. They would also like to thank Vitas Healthcare and the entire staff at Regal Care of Prospect, with a special thank you to Maryann and Pat. She was very happy at Regal Care and the family is very grateful for the care that she received. She is survived by her children, Carl Rogers and his wife Elaine of FL, Lawrence Rogers of Waterbury, Daniel Rogers and his wife April of FL, Carol Martinez and her fianc Mark Brown of Waterbury, Donna Rogers and her fianc Bob Cioppa of Shelton and Jimmie Rogers and his wife Teresa of Stafford Springs; her siblings, Shirley Macary of Waterbury, Patricia Zainc and her husband Stephen of Waterbury, Christine Simcik of Southington,, Mary Boese and her husband Red of OK ,and Andrew Nistico of FL; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild and 16 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Richard Rogers, daughter, Alice Rogers, brothers, Michael, Albert and Vinnie Nistico and sister, Josephine Perugini. Arrangements: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Waterbury, 222 West Main St. Inurnment will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
