Waterbury - Mrs. Rita V. (Gagnon) Wojack, 91, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, December 21, 2014 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Mr. Chester T. Wojack. Rita was born on August 12, 1923 in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Goulet) Gagnon. She was a longtime resident of Waterbury and a graduate of Wilby High School. Rita worked as a cashier at East Mountain Golf Course for the City of Waterbury for 18 years before her retirement. She was a member of the East Mountain Womens Golf Association and enjoyed golfing with her late husband. Rita was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and cherished the time she was able to spend with her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita is survived by her four children, David Wojack and his wife Nancy of Greer, SC, Theodore Wojack and his wife Barbara of Cheshire, Donna Wojack of Waterbury, and Judy Germano of Wolcott; five grandchildren, David Wojack and Rebecca Kirkwood, both of Greer, SC, Melissa and Jessica Germano, both of Waterbury, and Benjamin Wojack of Greenville, SC; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Maurice Gagnon; and a sister, Lorraine Terisavage. Family and friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 28. 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 668 Lakewood Road, Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
