Wolcott Mrs. Lynne D. (Normandin) Stanley, 78, passed away at home on Thursday, August 4th, following a courageous three year battle with cancer. Lynne was born January 3, 1944 in Bristol, daughter of the late Oliver H. and Madeline A. (Ferris) Normandin. Lynne was a graduate of the first graduating class of Wolcott High School in 1962. She had been employed by the town of Wolcott and for eleven years served as the secretary to former Mayor Edward Wilensky. Following this, she worked for the Law Offices of Tynan and Iannone for five years. Lynne was an extremely creative and talented artist and will be remembered for her interests in ceramics, painting, gardening and reading. She was married to her devoted husband Niel E. Stanley, Jr for 57 years. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Scott Stanley and his wife Michelina. daughter, Jennifer Stanley; her three grandchildren, Christopher, Michela and Tilor; her brother, Brian Normandin and his wife Michelle and her brother-in-law, Raymond Stanley and his wife Penny. She was predeceased by her sister, Janice Smyth and her husband Pat. She also leaves behind several nieces, extended family and friends. Funeral services are private.
