Oakville Mrs. Lorraine Helen (Chouinard) Normandin passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 3, 2023. She was born in Lynn Massachusetts on July 12, 1938 to the late Albert and Janet Chouinard and was a resident of the Waterbury area for most of her life spending the last several years in Oakville, CT. She was the wife of 60 years to the late Raymond Normandin.
She is survived by Daughter Lynn Gilland and her husband Patrick of Middlebury,
Daughter Donna Marino and her husband Joe of Waterbury, Son Glenn Normandin and his partner Cindy Goergen of Bristol & Son Gary Normandin and wife Suzanne of Stratford; She was also a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Christopher Marino and his wife Jennifer, Matthew Normandin and his wife Maggie, Carolyn Hubeny, Alisa Marino, Brandon Normandin, Zachary Normandin and his wife Rachel, Ryan Gilland and his wife Laura, Connor Normandin and his wife Becky, and Ken Normandin as well as the Goergen children. She is also survived by Great grandchildren Maeve, Quinn, Adrienne, Ava, Noelle, Cameron and Vincent; She also leaves behind her Sister Rita Gravel of Naugatuck, Brother In-law Maurice Normandin of Hopkinton MA and her sister in-law Madeleine Normandin of Walcott as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her brothers Armand and Richard Chouinard, as well as her sister Cecile Veillette and special cousin Barbara Parker of Lynn MA.
Lorraine was the loving wife for 60 years to Raymond, and is now happily reunited with him after missing him tremendously for the past 4 years. Their life together was a true love story. They loved the piano, and singing and dancing, like no one was watching. Her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were truly the joys of her life. Lorraine was employed by The Travelers insurance company for 25 years.
Lorraines smile could light up a room and her genuine appreciation for the simple things in life brought inspiration to us all. She will be truly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 6, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
