WATERBURY ~ Laurianne Marie Therese (Laliberte) Sharkis, 84, of Waterbury passed away peacefully early Saturday, February 5th at Cheshire House. She was the devoted wife of 64 years to Bronis W. Sharkis.
Laurianne was born in Quebec, Canada on March 7, 1926 to the late Raoul and Maria (Cote) Laliberte. At age three, Laurianne and her family relocated to Waterbury. She was a parishioner of the Shrine of St. Anne. During WWII, Laurianne was employed by U.S. Time and later went on to work at and retired from U.S. Rubber.
In addition to her husband, Bronis (Sharkey), Laurianne leaves four children, Theresa Bolduc (Douglas) of Southbury, Diane Grant (Robert) of Watertown, David Sharkis (Cheryl) of Waterbury and Stephen Sharkis (Robin) of Tolland. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Pisani. She is also survived by one brother, Marcel Laliberte (Jane) of Naugatuck and five sisters, Sister Fernande, DHS of Putnum, Sister Marie Gertrude, DHS of Hartford, Aldea Santoro of Prospect, Muriel Carpentier and Alice Laliberte of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jean-Gilles, Germain and Henri and her sister, Gertrude. Laurianne is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as eight grandchildren, John Pisani, Rhonda Bates, Deborah Trup, Lucas Bolduc, Melissa Sharkis, Daniel Sharkis, Jamie Sharkis and Brendan Sharkis and three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Ava, and Aiden.
The family would like to thank the Cheshire House staff for the care and support that Laurianne received while a resident.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9th at 11 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
