Irene McDermott, 79, of Wolcott, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. She was the wife of the late John McDermott. Irene is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Perrier, and her husband Don; her brother, Eugene Orlowski, and his wife Elfriede; her daughter in law, Renee McDermott; her grandchildren, Diane Perrier; John Perrier, and his wife, Danica; and Fletcher McDermott; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin McDermott. A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Interment with her husband in Long Island National Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Wolcott Public Library, 469 Bound Line Road, Wolcott, CT 06716.
