Obituary

Waterbury - Mrs. Irene (Forest) Belval, 92, passed away on Saturday, February 6, at her home. She was the widow of B. Ernest Belval. Mrs. Belval was born January 14, 1924 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Albert and Georgiana Forest. Raised in Waterbury she was a graduate of St. Annes Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School where she was valedictorian. She had worked at the White Supply Co. and then was the business office manager of her husbands company, Diecraft Tool, until her retirement at the age of 77. Irene loved being with her three sisters, family gatherings at the cottage on Cedar Lake in the summer, golfing with the "Nine Holers" at the Waterbury Country Club, the many couples golf vacations with her close friends, the Misquamicut Beach vacations and all of the family parties. She especially cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Irenes loving aide Dana Dzvonikova, who gave her joy and love each and every day, Angela Eccleston and others from Compassionate Companions for the caring service. The family is appreciative of Dr. Singanamala and her nurse Patty. Vitas at Home was tremendously helpful to Irene and her family in her final days. Irene is survived by two sons, Peter Belval and his wife Christine of Woodbury and Gilles Belval and his wife Carol of Kirkland, WA; daughter-in-law, Donna Ring of Waterbury; one sister, Rita LeBlanc of Waterbury; five grandchildren, Kaley Belval, Megan Belval, Remy Belval, Madeleine Belval and Kristen Gaudiosi and her husband Richard; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Gabriella Gaudiosi and many close nieces and nephews.
