Obituary

Torrington - Mrs. Gabrielle (Chauveau) Voghel, 99, formally of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sat., March 15, 2014, at Paradigm Healthcare of Torrington. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Voghel and her parents, Georgine (Pinard) and Pierre Chauveau of Canada. She was also predeceased by her four sisters and a brother. Gabrielle leaves behind two daughters, Lucille Vitulano and her husband, Joseph, of Litchfield, and Noella DeSantis of Graham, Washington; her son, Paul Voghel of Waterbury; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Gabrielles greatest passion was sewing, she loved to make stuffed toys and was well known for her Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that she crafted and shared with many. In her early years she was an avid fisherman. She will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank everyone at Paradigm and the VNS Hospice in Torrington for their compassionate care given to Gabrielle over the final years of her life. Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Prayers of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemeterey. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
