Wolcott Mrs. Florence (Ayotte) Gagne, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, at Bristol Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the widow of William J. Gagne. Florence was born March 17, 1925 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Peter and Florence (LaBelle) Ayotte. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School. In 1995 she retired from the City of Waterbury after working for many years at Wallace Middle School. She will be remembered for her love of reading, bingo and trips to the casino. She was a lifelong communicant of the Shrine of St. Anne. She is survived by her daughters, Diane M. Mundo and her husband Larry of New Hartford and Joyce E. Ramos of Waterbury; four grandchildren, William, Shawn, David and Tiffany; three great granddaughters; one great grandson; her sister-in-law, Marie J. Ayotte; her best friend, Sylvia Ledell and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Rebecca Ramos, her brother, Leo J. Ayotte and sister, Rita Caouette. The family would like to thank the staff of the Bristol Hospital for the wonderful care given to Florence. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 6, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 9:30 A.M. at the Shrine of St. Anne in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
