Loving Mother & Nana
WOLCOTT-Faune Marie ( Bianco) Goldberg of Wolcott passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She was a devoted and loyal wife to her husband for over 45 years. They shared many beautiful memories and traveled the world together. But most importantly they shared the same passion for sports and loved attending the extracurricular activities that their children were involved in.
Faune was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Louis (Papa Louie) & Carmella Guarino Bianco (Nana Mayo). She was a beautiful (inside& out) vibrant, happy woman who always lived life to the fullest regardless of lifes adversities. She saw the best in others and leaves a long lasting impression on every person that she touched.
She worked for the City of Waterbury, Parks Department for many years. There she leaves behind her "Second Family", which included numerous close friends that shared coffee and many laughs. She loved to bring in treats that would brighten their day. She was an avid reader and dedicated daily crossword solver while enjoying her coffee.
She enjoyed going on vacations, trips to the casino, visits to her Aunt Sissys and relaxing on the beach, especially with her Brother Lou, Barb and her best friend Wendy.
Her life truly revolved around her family. Although "Faunie" was very close to all her children they each shared a special bond and had a special place in her heart. "Faunie" and "Paigie" were best friends. They enjoyed quality time doing many things together, including shopping, birthday vacations, and going to a movie, having dinner, but most importantly the simple little "daily" things is what made their mother and daughter bond even stronger.
"Faunie" loved both her boys, cherishing her time with them, her face would brighten each time Phil or Dave would walk in the door. She was their #1 fan! Every sporting event, Phil and David knew looking into the crowd; rain, snow, sleet or shine that their Mom would be there wearing her big black sunglasses. Whether it was standing on the sidelines or sitting in the bleachers, she cheered for number "24", which her two favorite athletes shared. Little did she know years later the legacy to follow, the Hearts, GO HEARTS!
Nana was always there to wipe a tear, kiss a scrape or simply just to calm a fear. Her love was baked into homemade cookies and simmered with the sauce and meatballs, with three types of pasta to please them all. Countless to list-forever to be missed we will never forget the special traditions but most memorable; Pumpkin Carving, Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve. LOV - Always & Forever. (insert Heart)
Besides her husband Phillip, she leaves a son, Phillip H. Goldberg of Wolcott and his companion , Alice Forestier of Waterbury, a daughter Paige Goldberg, of Wolcott, her companion Marc Capizzi of Waterbury, a son David and his wife Brenda Goldberg of Wolcott, a brother, Louis and his wife Barbara Bianco of Westerly, RI, Aunt Grace Klimak, her grandchildren, Zack, Ty and Leah Goldberg, Christopher Madden, Anthony Temple, Kyle Silva and Caitlyn Colella, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mass will be held directly at SS Peter and Paul Church on Wednesday at 10am in Waterbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with the arrangements. To leave words of sympathy to Faune's family please visit: www.woodtickmemorial.com
