Wolcott Mrs. Dorothy Marie (Longo) Santopietro, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, May 14, at her home. She was married 52 years to the late John R. Santopietro. Dorothy was born January 14, 1941 in Waterbury CT, daughter of the late John P. and Susan (Rossi) Longo. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School, class of 1958. Dorothy had been employed for many years at Haydon Switch and Instrument Company and then retired as a para professional for the Wolcott Public Schools after ten years. She was an active member of the Charles Rietdyke Senior Center and was a communicant of St. Pius X Church of Wolcott. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of decorating, shopping, and having lunch with friends. She was the best mother, grandmother and sister and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She is survived by her son, Kenneth John Santopietro and his wife Lucy (Daddona) of Thomaston; her daughter, Susan Santopietro Domejczyk and her husband Ted of Plantsville; her twin sister, Maureen Martinelli of Wolcott; her brother-in-law Art Santopietro and his wife Joyce of Pawleys Island, SC; two grandchildren, Thomas John Santopietro and his wife Emily (Verdosci) Santopietro of Plainville; and Marisa Rose (Santopietro) Desrosiers and her husband Michael of Wolcott; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and John Longo. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 18, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church (St. Basil the Great Parish) 525 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
