Wolcott - Mrs. Doris (Cook) Bagley was called home on Nov. 19, 2014 to join her beloved husband of 67 years, Edward Bagley Jr.
Doris was born Dec. 26, 1929 in Waterbury to the late Lulu and Stewart Cook. She attended Waterbury public schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School. Doris met and married the love of her life, Edward Bagley, moving to Wolcott where they raised their four children whom she is survived by; Cheryl Champagne and her husband Rick, Thomas Bagley and his wife Andrea, and Edward Bagley III all of Wolcott, and Kathryn Carberry and her husband Lawrence of Litchfield. Doris is also survived by her granddaughters, Lindsay (Bagley) Holland, Kelly (Champagne) Gardino, Stephanie (Rinaldi) Curtiss, and Danielle Carberry; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Bagley and a sister, Lois Bunting.
Doris worked as an operator for SNET in Waterbury and as a secretary for Attorney Murolo in Wolcott for a number of years and later moved to Port St. Lucie, FL after her retirement. She was an active member of Wolcott Junior Womens Club and volunteered for hospitals both in Waterbury and Florida. She will be remembered for her love of life, family and friends, always entertaining, doing crafts, and her love of the ocean.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Meridian Manor Staff where she spent her final days in their loving care.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 24 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday morning, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Doris to any Wolcott charity of their choosing.
